Privacy policy

This policy explains how your personal data is handled when you use eloqnt/studio—the website, your account, the hosted translation engine, and the CLI.
Your account
You log in with GitHub. We store the email address, name, and avatar from your GitHub profile, along with your sessions—which include the IP address and browser they were created from, for security. API keys you create are stored as hashes. We keep only a short prefix so you can recognize a key, plus when it was last used.
Your translations
When the CLI translates or reviews source text through the hosted engine ("Hosted model" plan), the messages involved are sent to us and passed to OpenAI via Vercel's AI Gateway to produce the translations or suggested fixes. To improve the results, any context your catalog attaches to a message is sent along with it: a description of what it means and references to where it's used in your source (such as file paths). They're processed in memory and not stored or used to train models—we keep only usage metering records for billing: token counts, the cost per model call, and run details such as the locales involved and batch sizes. The text itself is never part of these records. On the "Bring your own model" plan you configure your own model in the CLI: your messages and their context go directly to your provider and never reach our backend. Their handling of your data is then governed by that provider's own privacy terms.
Billing (Polar)
Both the "Hosted model" subscription and the "Bring your own model" purchase are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. When you check out, your email address and name are shared with Polar. For the "Hosted model" plan, we also report your AI usage spend to them for metering. Payment details go to Polar directly and never touch our servers. Polar's handling of your data is governed by Polar's privacy policy.
Email updates (Kit)
If you sign up for updates on the website, we store the email address you provide with Kit, our email provider, and use it only to send you product updates about eloqnt/studio. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Kit's handling of your data is governed by Kit's privacy policy.
Infrastructure
The service runs on Vercel and account data lives in a database hosted by Supabase. There are no analytics or tracking scripts—the only cookies are the ones that keep you logged in.
Retention
We keep your account data while your account exists and delete it when you ask us to close your account. Mailing list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Translated messages aren't retained at all.
